WNDRR

At 20 my mind was saying hello! look at me. This was the first step in me executing what it was my daydreams had been bringing to me. The peaks of my imagination meeting my will to listen. Consumed with love, ideas, and emotions; When I got together with Chenroy he helped me expand my thoughts into a full story. Little did I know my idea for one scene would not last the entire song or even be enough to convey a full thought. Love you Chenroy! But lets backtrack, it was hearing Jhene Aiko’s ‘Spotless Mind’ that kept my mind wandering past the lyrics. At this time I felt a strong sense of belonging to nothing but loving strongly. Love for music, dance, and one person in particular. My idea was for me to be crying in front of a tree with flowers (as featured as one of the scenes of the final ‘WNDRR’). I thought this would be enough to express the world of emotions I was feeling inside.

The process: It was a three day production. However, a lot of planning went into it. Very early mornings and later nights. We had treatments, we scouted locations, and planned our “trespasses” haha! We also had to work with nature. Luckily it all came together and we ended up having an assistant each day, with the help of my amazing friends. It took sometime to edit working closely with Chenroy. But, the end result..well, I was extremely happy with my first baby! And I was so lucky to work so closely with Chenroy to see firsthand all the background processes and connect them with what the model usually is isn’t exposed to or interested in. Me? I was more than interested. I wanted to know E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.NG. It helps me in my creative process because when I’m modeling I think of what I look like on the camera with respect to my environment instead of mindlessly moving. Its strategic and extremely detail oriented, yet free-spirited and expressive.
